2017 Grammys: Adele emotional as she beats Beyonce to album of the year win

Adele's 25 beat off competition from Lemonade by Beyonce, Purpose by Justin Beiber, Views by Drake and A Sailor's Guide To Earth by Sturgill Simpson to win "album of the year" at the 59th Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center, LA on Sunday night.

A teary Adele paid a tribute to Beyonce who is expecting twins.

While receiving her award, she said:
"My artist of my life is Beyoncé.

"I adore you and I want you to be my mommy.

"This album for me -- the 'Lemonade' album -- was just so monumental and so well thought out and so beautiful and soul-bearing and we all got to see another side to you that you don't always let us see and we appreciate that.

"You are our light."
While Beyoncé teared up, Adele added: "I love you. I always have. And I always will."
