Nigeria will not break-up in 2017 - Bishop Ezeokafor
- Bishop Paulinus Ezeokafor made the predictions as part of his Christmas and New Year message to Nigerians
- He revealed that 2017 will not be different from 2016 as it would come with both sadness and joy, but pleaded with Nigerians
Those thinking that Nigeria would collapse by 2017 may just have to rethink because Bishop Paulinus Ezeokafor of the Catholic Diocese
of Awka, Anambra state has released his predictions.
Against the prediction of doomsday prophets, the Bishop said in his Christmas and New Year message however that next year would not be
better than 2016 as it would come with both sadness and joy.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports him as urging Nigerians to be hopeful, adding: “Nigeria will not collapse;
our people must continue to live in hope, Nigeria will still come out of the woods and the responsibility of
revamping the economy is that of all of us,
not government alone.
“I see hope but I encourage us to adjust to the new situation in the country.”
The bishop called on the federal and state governments of the country to support the promotion of agriculture
so that Nigeria could produce enough foodstuffs to feed and sustain its citizens.
He also urged Nigerians to own gardens where they can cultivate crops.
According to him, the problems in the oil sector had been advantageous as they have redirected the thinking
of the leaders of the country.
“Any nation that cannot feed itself is doomed, we should endeavour not to spend on importation of food, I think
the fall in oil price is good for us,” he said.
He also asked the federal government to stop all religious and ethnic killings across the country.
President Muhammadu Buhari and his cabinet members have constantly maintained that 2017 would be better than 2016.
